Savile, Jimmy

    0.02 sec.

Savile, Jimmy (1926– )

British radio disc jockey and television presenter. From 1964 he was one of the regular presenters of the BBC's Top of the Pops before moving on to his own show, Jim'll Fix It (1975–94). This broke new ground in bringing members of the public to the screen to fulfil their ambitions. An eccentric and enduring icon, he has been especially active in fundraising for hospitals. He was knighted in 1990.
