sawshark

Member of two genera of sharks. They grow to 1 m/3.3 ft long including the long, sawlike, toothed snout, which is used to attack prey. They are not dangerous to humans.

Although they resemble the sawfish, a ray, their gill-slits are on the sides of the head instead of underneath, and the front edge of the pectoral fins are free, not fused to the head and body.

Classification

Pliotrema and Pristiophorus, are in the family Pristiophoridae of order Pristiophoriformes, subclass Elasmobranchii, class Chondrichthyes.
