Scalabrini, Paolo (c. 1713–1806)

Italian composer. He went to Copenhagen in 1747 as conductor of the Mingotti opera company, and stayed there as music director to the Danish court 1748–53 and again 1775–81, when he retired to Italy. He was among the first to write an opera to Danish words.
