Scarpa, Carlo

    0.02 sec.

Scarpa, Carlo (1906–1978)

Italian architect. His emphasis on craftsmanship and fine detail shows the influence of the art nouveau tradition.

His works include the restoration of the Castelvecchio Museum, Verona, 1964, which displays both reverence for, and an inventive dialogue with, the past and the artworks displayed.

His other projects include the Brion Cemetery at San Vito d'Altivole, near Treviso, 1970–72, and the Banco Popolare, Verona, 1973–75, his last major work.
