Schenker, Heinrich (1868–1935)| Polish-Austrian theorist. His literary works, including Neue musikalische Theorien und Phantasien and Das Meisterwerk in der Musik, laid down his detailed analytical methods. |
| He studied with Bruckner at the Vienna Conservatory and on Brahms's recommendation published some early compositions. He taught a number of pupils privately. |
