Scherchen-Hsiao, Tona (1938- )

Swiss-born French composer. She studied with her father, Hermann Scherchen, with Hans Werner Henze at Salzburg, with Messiaen in Paris 1963-65, and with György Sándor Ligeti in Vienna.

Shen for six percussion (1968); Khouang for orchestra (1968); Tao for contralto and orchestra (1971); Vague T'ao for orchestra (1975); L'Invitation au voyage for chamber orchestra (1977); L'illegitime for orchestra and tape (1986).
