Schikaneder, (Johann Josef) Emanuel (1751–1812)| German actor, singer, librettist, playwright, and theatre manager. He was author or part-author with Ludwig Gieseke of the libretto of Mozart's opera The Magic Flute, which he produced with himself as Papageno. |
| He settled in Vienna in 1784. He also wrote libretti for Benedict Schack, Franz Xaver Gerl, Franz Süssmayr, Joseph Woelfl, Ignaz Seyfried, Peter Winter, and others. |
