Schutz, Alfred (1899–1959)

Austrian sociologist. Shutz emigrated to the USA in 1939. He wrote on social science methodology, phenomenology, and the philosophy of Edmund Husserl and William James. From 1943 until his death he was on the faculty of the New School for Social Research.
