Sciacca

Seaport in southwest Sicily, on the Mediterranean coast, 47 km/29 mi northwest of Agrigento; population (1993 est) 38,800. There are fisheries and coral banks, and hot sulphur springs nearby. It has an 11th-century cathedral.
