Science Learning Network

Group of international science museums linked via the Web, with the aim of improving science teaching in primary schools by presenting science in an informal way. The network was set up in the USA in 1995, with grants from the National Science Foundation and the computer company Unisys.

The original six US museums linked to the network are in Boston (Massachusetts), Miami (Florida), Philadelphia (Pennsylvania), Portland (Oregon), St. Paul (Minnesota), and San Francisco (California). These were joined in 1998 by seven museums around the world, in Amsterdam (the Netherlands), Helsinki (Finland), London (England), Mexico City (Mexico), Paris (France), Singapore, and Tokyo (Japan).
