Scipio Aemilianus, Publius Cornelius (c. 185–129 BC)

Roman general, the adopted grandson of Scipio Africanus Major. He destroyed Carthage in 146, and subdued Spain in 133. He was opposed to his brothers-in-law, the Gracchi (see Gracchus).
