Scipione Affricano

Opera by Cavalli (libretto by Minato), produced at the Teatro San Giovanni e Paolo, Venice, on 9 February 1664. The plot is similar to Scipio, with the addition of a sub-plot involving the efforts of King Syphax to rescue his abducted wife, Sophonisba.
