Scottish Fold cat

Breed of domestic shorthaired cat with distinctive folded ears. Developed in Scotland in the 1960s from a mutation, it was imported into the USA from the early 1970s. The folded ear flaps either droop forward or forward and downward with the tip almost touching the head. The head is round and set on a well rounded body. The coat, which is short and dense, is acceptable in almost any colour.

The breed was recognized in Britain 1976.
