Seal Beach

Seal Beach

City in southwestern California, on the Pacific Ocean, across Coyote Creek from Long Beach; population (1990) 25,100. It has a Naval Weapons Station and a National Wildlife Refuge, along with oilfields, some corporate offices, and bathing beaches.

It was incorporated in 1915 and remained largely agricultural until the 1960s.
