Seale, Bobby (1936– )

US political activist, and educator. One of the original Black Panthers, Seale gained notoriety for his vociferous demonstrations during and after the 1968 Chicago convention. Later adopting a moderate political approach, he ran unsuccessfully for mayor of Oakland, California in 1973 and resigned as Black Panther chair in 1974.
