Seaman, David Andrew (1963– )

English footballer whose goalkeeping performances in the 1996 European Championships won him recognition as a world-class player. He made his England debut in 1988 and gained 75 England caps. An Arsenal player from 1990, he helped the club to win eight major trophies including three league championships. He had previously played for Leeds United, Peterborough United, Birmingham City, and Queen's Park Rangers, and finished his career with Manchester City.
