Secunde, Nadine (1953– )

US soprano. She studied with Margaret Harshaw. From 1980 she sang at Wiesbaden, as Agathe, Ariadne, and Káta Kabanova. From 1985 she appeared at Cologne, making her debut as Káta. She appeared at the Bayreuth Festival, as Elsa and Sieglinde (1987–88). In 1988 she made her debuts at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London, and at Chicago, as Elsa and Elisabeth. She sang Cassandre in Les Troyens at Los Angeles, in 1991. One of her best roles was Strauss's Chrysothemis, which she has sung at San Francisco and Chicago (1991 and 1992).
