Sedgefield

Town in County Durham, northeast England, 13 km/8 mi northwest of Stockton; population (2001) 88,200. There is a racecourse nearby. Sedgefield lies in a former mining district, and local limestone quarries used to supply the steel industry.

Tony Blair, UK Prime Minister 1997–2007, was MP for the Sedgefield parliamentary constituency 1983–2007.
