Seegr, Joseph (Ferdinand Norbert) (1716–1782)

Bohemian organist and composer. He studied in Prague where he became a singer, violinist, and organist at several churches. On hearing him play, Joseph II offered him a court appointment in Vienna, but he died before he could take it up.

Works

masses, psalms, litanies and other church music; toccatas and fugues for organ.
