Selebi-Phikwe

Mining town in eastern Botswana, 70 km/43 mi southeast of Francistown; population (2001 est) 47,200. Founded in 1971, it is one of the largest towns in the country. The town yields annually 19,000 tonnes of nickel, 20,000 tonnes of copper, and 127,000 tonnes of sulphur.
