Prizren

Town in the autonomous region of Kosovo, in Serbia; population (2001 est) 114,900. In the Middle Ages it was for a time the capital of the kingdom of Serbia. There are textile and glass industries, and the town is known for its silver filigree work and embroideries. It has a 14th-century church and an old fortress.
