Work by Vaughan Williams for 16 solo voices and orchestra (text from The Merchant of Venice); composed in 1938 for the jubilee of Henry Wood and conducted by him in London on 5 October 1938. A version for orchestra was performed in London on 10 February 1940, conducted by Wood.
