Serkin, Peter (1947– )

US pianist. Serkin made his public debut at the age of ten. As a teenager, he was an active recitalist and performer with orchestras. For some time he concentrated on contemporary music and was a cofounder of the new-music quartet, Tashi. Later he returned to performing the entire piano repertoire.
