Serra, Luciana (1946– )

Italian soprano. She made her debut in 1966 at Budapest, in Cimarosa's Il convito. She appeared with Tehran Opera between 1969 and 1976. From 1974 sang widely in Italy, as Gilda, Rosina, Ophelia, and Bellini's Elvira and Giulietta. She made her London debut at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden in 1980, as Olympia. Her coloratura has been admired as Norina, Amina, and the Queen of the Night. In 1983 she sang at Chicago, with the Lyric Opera. In 1992 she appeared at La Scala, Milan, as Zerlina in Fra Diavalo, and at Genoa, as Pamira in Le Siège de Corinthe.
