seva

Sikh concept of service for others with no thought of recognition or reward. To truly be seva, a person must do the service selflessly, with no ego, and with no hope for a particular outcome. Any Sikh can give his or her time, money, or skills to help others or the community, and all work should be done with pride, and to the best of one's ability. Sikhs believe that everyone's effort is important and useful.
