Seven Sleepers of Ephesus

Seven Christians from Ephesus who took refuge from the persecution of the emperor Decius in a cave in 250 AD. They were walled in, fell asleep, and awoke nearly 200 years later, in the reign of Theodosius II (447). Having told their story, they returned to the cave to sleep until Judgement Day.
