Sevier

River in Utah, USA; length 525 km/325 mi. It is formed by headstreams near Panguitch and flows into Sevier Lake, a shrinking salt lake, usually dry. The river is dammed in several places.

Near its northeastern apex it forms Sevier Bridge Reservoir, a popular recreational site. In the area around Delta it irrigates alfalfa fields and farms.

Course

The Sevier flows along the east of the Pahvant Range, then turns northwest and southwest into the Sevier Desert section of the Great Basin, where it passes Delta and enters Sevier Lake.
