Seyss-Inquart, Arthur (1892-1946)

Austrian lawyer and politician. He joined the Nazi party in 1928. He was minister of the interior and security in the Schuschnigg Cabinet from February to March 1938. Seyss-Inquart became governor of Austria in 1938 and deputy-governor general of Poland in 1939. As Reich commissioner for the Netherlands he became notorious for his cruelty, and after the war was executed as a war criminal. Seyss-Inquart was born in Moravia.
