Shahrazad

Symphonic suite by Rimsky-Korsakov on the subject of the story-teller in the Arabian Nights and of some of the tales, Op. 35. It was finished in the summer of 1888 and produced at St Petersburg, on 3 November 1888. A ballet based on the suite (choreographed by Mikhail Fokin, settings by Leon Bakst) was produced at the Paris Opéra on 4 June 1910. See also Shéhérazade .
