magnification

Measure of the enlargement or reduction of an object in an imaging optical system. Linear magnification is the ratio of the size (height) of the image to that of the object. Angular magnification is the ratio of the angle subtended at the observer's eye by the image to the angle subtended by the object when viewed directly.
