Shaivism

In Hinduism, worship of the god Shiva. It is an important part of the Hindu tradition, particularly in southern India. Shaivite ascetics often smear their bodies with ashes, keep their hair uncut, and carry a trident. Shaivism stresses asceticism and meditation.
