Shcherbachev, Vladimir Vassilievich (1889–1952)

Russian composer. He studied with Steinberg, Liadov, and Wintol at the St Petersburg Conservatory. He later became a professor at the Leningrad Conservatory.

Works

opera Anna Kolossova (1939); film music, The Tempest; five symphonies (1913–50, no. 4 choral), suite and other orchestral works; nonet for voice and instruments and other chamber music; two piano sonatas and other piano works.
