Shen Nung

Shen Nung

Chinese legendary ruler and god of medicine and agriculture. The immediate predecessor of the mythical Yellow Emperor, Shen Nung is known as the Agricultural Emperor for his invention of the cart and other agricultural implements.

He is revered for his study of plants and their uses in curing disease and is said to have classified 365 species of medicinal plants. He died at the age of 168 and became an Immortal.
