Shera, Jesse Hauk

Shera, Jesse Hauk (1903–1982)

US librarian and educator. After working at the University of Chicago Library for several years, he became dean of the Western Reserve University School of Library Science (1952–82) where he established the doctoral program in librarianship and edited the university press. Despite a severe visual handicap, he was a prolific author and a pioneer in the field of information retrieval.
