Frasier

US television comedy series 1993–2003 starring Kelsey Grammer (1955– ) as pompous, insecure psychiatrist Dr Frasier Crane, who hosts a radio advice show in Seattle, Washington. A spin-off from the comedy series Cheers, the programme became one of the most popular series on television, winning more than 30 Emmy awards.

The cast included David Hyde Pierce (1959– ) as Frasier's neurotic and competitive brother Niles, John Mahoney (1940– ) as Frasier's politically incorrect, ex-cop father Martin, Jane Leeves (1962– ) as Martin's eccentric live-in carer and Nile's romantic interest Daphne Moon, and Peri Gilpin (1961– ) as Frasier's man-hungry producer. The series, known for its sophisticated dialogue, well-developed characters and relationships, and physical comedy, was created by David Angell, Peter Casey, and David Lee.

Frasier became the first series to achieve five consecutive Emmy wins for Outstanding Comedy Series.
