Shinn, Everett

Shinn, Everett (1876–1953)

US painter and illustrator. Shinn worked as an illustrator for various periodicals, and in 1901 he begun to paint theatre scenes and set designs, usually in pastels. He was among the founders of the Eight (1908), a school of painting based on realism.
