Shugborough

House in Staffordshire, England, 9 km/6 mi southeast of Stafford. It has been the home of the Anson family, later to become Earls of Lichfield, from 1624 until the present day. The present late 17th-century house, with 18th-century alterations, contains plasterwork by Vassali and Joseph Rose (1745–99). Shugborough was acquired by the National Trust, with about 365 ha/902 acres of land, through the Treasury in 1966.

A group of neo-Grecian monuments in the park was built by James ‘Athenian’ Stuart.

DUST off your broomsticks - Shugborough Hall is preparing for its squealiest Halloween ever.
The tree, which was discovered in the grounds of Shugborough Hall, Staffordshire, and which has engulfed a National Trust garden, is 50 metres wider than its nearest rival, and has a crown circumference of 175.
For on this weekend Shugborough Hall will be hosting the 2008 Lilliput Lane Collectors Fair.
