Siebert, Muriel (c. 1930– )

US stockbroker and educator. After a career in banking, in1967 Sierbert became the first woman to buy her own seat on the New York Stock Exchange. She established her own firm, Muriel Siebert & Co., in 1969. After a term as New York State superintendent of banks, 1977–82, she ran an unsuccessful campaign for the Republican Senate nomination. She remains actively involved in philanthropic and women's organizations.
