Sieden, Cynthia (1954– )

US soprano. She studied with Elisabeth Schwarzkopf. From 1984 she sang widely in Europe, as Xenia in Boris Godunov under Abbado (1984), Helena in the first performance of Troades by Reimann (Munich 1986), Cunegone in Candide for the New York City Opera (1989), and Sifare in Mozart's Mitridate at the 1989 Wexford Festival. Other roles included the Queen of the Night (at the Opéra Bastille), Gluck's Amor (Salzburg Festival, under Gardiner), Zerbinetta (Vienna Staatsoper), and Blondchen in Die Entführung (Paris Châtelet). She returned to the Paris Châtelet to sing Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier, in 1993.
