Siegmeister, Elie (1909–1991)
| US composer. After studies in New York and in France, Siegmeister taught at Hofstra University, New York, from 1949. His music involves an individual adaptation of modernist ideas, with a strong nationalistic element. He also wrote introductory texts on music. |
