Siguiri

Town and small river port in northeast Guinea, on the north bank of the River Niger, 470 km/295 mi north-northeast of Conakry; population (2001 est) 85,000. Alluvial gold was extracted locally until 1992. The government plans to extract hard-rock gold deposits in the future. The main agricultural product is rice.
