Silveri, Paolo (1913– )

Italian baritone. He made his debut in Rome in 1944, as Germont. Between 1947 and 1949 he sang in London at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, as Rigoletto, Escamillo, and Boris. He also appeared in New York, at the Metropolitan Opera House (1950–53). After a brief period as a tenor in 1959 (Otello in Dublin) he reverted to baritone in 1960. Other roles included Marcello, Don Giovanni, and Renato.
