Simeon (I) the Great (died 927)

Tsar of the Bulgars. He succeeded Prince Vladimir in 893. Under Simeon Bulgar power reached its zenith. He twice captured Adrianople (modern-day Edirne, Turkey), and in 923 forced the Byzantine Emperor to a humiliating peace.
