Simonetti, Achille (1857–1928)

Italian violinist and composer. He was a pupil of Pedrotti for composition, and later of Sivori at Genoa for violin. Having appeared as a concert artist, he went to Paris for further study with Dancla and Massenet. Later he settled in London as performer, teacher, and member of the London Trio. He toured throughout Europe as a soloist, and was well known in the Brahms concerto.
