Simpson, N(orman) F(rederick) (1919- )

English dramatist. His plays A Resounding Tinkle (1957), The Hole (1958), and One Way Pendulum (1959) show the logical development of an abnormal situation, and belong to the theatre of the Absurd. He also wrote a novel, Harry Bleachbaker (1976).

He is known for his mastery of double entendre and non sequitur for outrageous effect.
