Dolly

Suite of six children's pieces for piano duet by Gabriel Fauré, Op. 56, composed in 1893; an orchestral version for a ballet was arranged by Henri Rabaud in 1896 and it was first produced in Paris, France, on 23 January 1913. It is dedicated to the daughter of Mme Emma Bardac, later Claude Debussy's second wife. As in the case of Debussy's Children's Corner, the title and two of the sub-titles seem to suggest some English association: 1. Berceuse; 2. Mi-a-ou; 3. Le Jardin de Dolly; 4. Kitty-Valse; 5. Tendresse; 6. Le Pas espagnol.
