Sixsmith, Jane(t) Teresa (1967– )

English hockey player, who won over 323 caps for England and Great Britain, scoring 104 times. A forward, renowned for her pace, she scored her 100th international goal in January 2000. She represented Great Britain at the Olympic Games in 1988, 1992 (when she helped the team win a bronze medal), 1996, and 2000. She retired from international competition after the Sydney Olympics in 2000, having become the first female British hockey player to appear in four Olympic tournaments. At club level she spent her entire career with Sutton Coldfield, her home team. She was awarded an MBE in 2000.
