Skagerrak

North coast of Denmark. The Skagerrak, an arm of the North Sea, passes between southern Norway and northern Denmark, connecting the North Sea to the Baltic Sea. It travels through the Kattegat, a sea passage that is only 135 km/85 mi wide at it broadest point.

Arm of the North Sea which connects it to the Baltic Sea and passes between the south coast of Norway and Jutland on the north coast of Denmark by means of the Kattegat. In May 1916 it was the scene of the inconclusive Battle of Jutland between the British and German fleets.

The Skagerrak is 112–145 km/70–90 mi in width, and is about 250 km/155 mi long.
