Slavonski Brod

Town in Croatia, on the left bank of the River Sava; population (2001) 58,600. It is an important rail and road junction, has oil and engineering works, and trades in wine and cereals. It has a Turkish citadel. Across the river is the twin town of Bosanski Brod.
