Smith, Ronald (1922–2004)| English pianist and writer on music. He studied at the Royal College of Music, London, where he made his debut at a 1942 London Promenade Concert. He has given many performances of the huge piano works of Alkan: his books on the composer include Alkan, The Man and His Music (1975), Alkan The Enigma (1976), and Alkan in Miniature (1978). |
